US Oil Demand May Slow Sharply After Strong 2018
The US has been a core driver of global oil-demand growth in recent years. But Fitch Solutions expects a marked slowdown in America as economic growth there slows and pump prices rise further. The firm predicts US oil-demand growth of 0.6% this year and 0.3% in 2020, versus last year's 2%. For refined fuels, after 2018's 2.5% jump just a 0.3% increase is seen for this year and no growth for 2020.
