The EIA lifts its forecast for 2019 and 2020 average US oil production to 12.4M bpd and 13.1M bpd, respectively, from a 12.3M and 13.0M forecast a month ago. The change, part of its monthly Short Term Energy Outlook, comes as US prices Monday hit a five-month high $64.40/bbl. That could incentivize US producers in places like the Permian Basin of west Texas to ramp up activity and pump more oil.
