DJ Eni Brings Wave Power Plant in Italy Online
Eni SpA (ENI.MI) said Wednesday that it has brought online a wave power plant in Ravenna, Italy.
The facility is part of the world's first hybrid smart-power grid, which combines hydro and solar power, the Italian energy company said.
Wave power is predictable and is a "very promising future energy source," Eni said, adding that the new plant adapts to different sea conditions to keep energy production steady.
"Waves are the most underutilized renewable source in the world," the company said.
