Eni's Complex Disruption Shut Down About 40% Of Libyan Gas Production -Official
LONDON--About 40% of Libya's natural-gas production is now shut down after an Eni SpA (E, ENI.MI) complex was forced to halt operations due to armed clashes, the country's deputy oil minister said late Sunday.
In an interview with Dow Jones, Omar Shakmak said around 40% of Libya's natural-gas output is now halted, depriving the country of production normally exported to Italy or used locally.
Saturday, Eni's local joint venture was forced to shut down its Mellitah complex in Libya's Northwest following clashes between rival militia.
